Materials and Prep
- Blank paper
- Pencils and markers
- Scissors
- Tape or glue
- Optional: Natural materials like leaves, twigs, or small rocks
Before starting the lesson, make sure you have a clear workspace with all the necessary materials.
Activities
- Brainstorming (10 minutes): Start by discussing what a tree hut is and why it can be a fun place to play or relax. Encourage your imagination and think about different features you would like to include in your tree hut.
- Designing (15 minutes): Use the blank paper and pencils/markers to sketch out your tree hut. Think about the shape, size, and any special elements you want to add. You can also use natural materials to enhance your design.
- Building (20 minutes): Once you have your design, gather the necessary materials and start building your tree hut. Cut out the shapes you need, fold and tape/glue them together to create your hut. Don't forget to add any extra details you planned in your design.
- Presenting and Reflecting (10 minutes): Share your finished tree hut with a family member or friend. Explain your design choices and what you enjoyed most about creating it. Reflect on the process and any challenges you faced.
