Objective
By the end of this lesson, you will be able to identify and describe different surprise eggs, as well as practice your reading skills.
Materials and Prep
- Surprise eggs (at least 3)
- Markers or crayons
- Paper
- Scissors
- Tape
No prior knowledge or preparation required.
Activities
- Create your own surprise egg
- Guess the surprise
- Read and describe
Using one of the eggs, draw a design on it using markers or crayons. Cut the egg shape out of the paper and carefully tape it around the egg. Now you have your own surprise egg!
Take turns with a family member or friend. One person hides a small object or a written word inside the egg without telling the other person. The other person then shakes the egg and tries to guess what's inside based on the sound or by reading the written word.
Open one of the surprise eggs and discover what's inside. Practice reading the name of the object or word found inside the egg. Describe the object using adjectives, such as its color, shape, and size.
