Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to spell and recognize the names of different crystals.

Materials and Prep

• Crystals (various types)
• Index cards
• Markers or crayons

Prior to the lesson, familiarize yourself with the names of different crystals and their corresponding spellings.

Activities

1. Crystal Matching Game: Write the names of different crystals on index cards and place them face down. Have the student turn over two cards at a time and try to find a match. Encourage them to say the name of the crystal when they find a match.
2. Crystal Spelling Bee: Show the student a crystal and ask them to spell its name. If they need help, provide them with the first letter or sound. Repeat with different crystals.
3. Crystal Scavenger Hunt: Hide the crystals around the room or outdoor area. Give the student clues about where to find each crystal, using their names in the clues. Once they find a crystal, have them spell its name.
