By the end of this lesson, the toddler will be able to engage with reading activities related to Coco Melon and develop early language arts skills.
Materials and Prep
- Coco Melon books or printouts
- Writing materials (crayons, markers, pencils)
- Scissors
- Glue or tape
- Construction paper or blank paper
Prior knowledge of Coco Melon characters and songs.
Activities
- Read Coco Melon books together: Choose a few Coco Melon books or printouts and read them aloud with the toddler. Encourage them to point at the pictures and ask questions about what they see.
- Draw and color Coco Melon characters: Provide the toddler with blank paper and drawing materials. Ask them to draw their favorite Coco Melon character and color it. Help them if needed.
- Create a Coco Melon collage: Cut out pictures of Coco Melon characters from magazines or printouts. Provide the toddler with construction paper and glue or tape. Help them stick the pictures onto the paper to create a collage.
- Write or trace Coco Melon names: Write or print out the names of Coco Melon characters on separate pieces of paper. Encourage the toddler to trace or copy the names using crayons or markers.
