Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to identify and describe the different seasons.

Materials and Prep

  • Seasons flashcards (with pictures of each season)
  • Whiteboard or large paper
  • Markers or crayons

Activities

  1. Introduce the concept of seasons by showing the seasons flashcards to the student. Discuss each season and its characteristics.

  2. Ask the student to draw or write about their favorite season on the whiteboard or large paper. Encourage them to use descriptive words to explain why they enjoy that season.

  3. Read a children's book about seasons together. Pause after each season and ask the student to share what they have learned about that particular season.

  • "Seasons are different times of the year that have different weather and things we can do."
  • "In spring, the weather gets warmer, flowers bloom, and animals come out of hibernation."
  • "In summer, it is hot and we can go swimming, have picnics, and play outside."
  • "In fall, leaves change color and fall off the trees. We can go apple picking and see pumpkins."
  • "In winter, it gets cold and it can snow. We can build snowmen and go sledding."
