Objective
By the end of this lesson, you will be able to build structures using magnetic tiles while practicing your reading skills.
Materials and Prep
- Magnetic tiles
- A flat surface to build on
- A selection of books or short stories
No additional preparation is required for this lesson.
Activities
- Start by introducing the magnetic tiles to the student. Discuss their properties and how they can be used to build different structures.
- Ask the student to choose a book or a short story from the selection provided.
- Encourage the student to read the book or story aloud while building with the magnetic tiles. They can create structures that represent scenes from the story or simply build freely as they read.
- After the reading session, ask the student to describe their structures and explain how they relate to the story. This will help reinforce reading comprehension skills.
- Optionally, you can encourage the student to write or draw about their structures and the story in a journal or notebook.
