Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to use library skills to find books and information about snow.

Materials and Prep

  • Computer or tablet with internet access
  • Paper and pencil
  • Access to a library catalog (if available)

Activities

  1. Start by discussing what you already know about snow. Write down any questions you have about snow.

  2. Using a computer or tablet, search for books about snow in your local library's online catalog. Write down the titles of at least three books that seem interesting to you.

  3. If you don't have access to a library catalog, use a search engine to find websites or articles about snow. Write down the URLs or titles of at least three sources that provide information about snow.

  4. Visit your local library (if possible) and ask the librarian for help in finding books about snow. Use the titles you wrote down earlier as a reference. If you can't visit the library, skip to the next step.

  5. Read or explore the books or websites you found about snow. Take notes on interesting facts or details you discover.

  6. Share what you learned about snow with a family member or friend. Use your notes to help you explain the topic.
