By the end of this lesson, you will be able to create your own Dungeons and Dragons character using practical arts skills.

Materials and Prep

  • Blank paper
  • Pencils
  • Colored pencils or markers
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick

Before starting the lesson, make sure you have a basic understanding of the concept of Dungeons and Dragons and its different character classes.

Activities

  1. Create your character

Think about what kind of character you want to create. Are they a brave warrior, a cunning rogue, or a powerful wizard? Use your imagination to come up with a unique character concept.

Draw your character on the blank paper using pencils. Add details to their appearance, such as their clothing, weapons, and any special features they may have.

  2. Color and cut out your character

Once you are happy with your character's design, use colored pencils or markers to add vibrant colors to your drawing.

Carefully cut out your character using scissors, following the outline you drew.

  3. Create a background for your character

Think about the world your character lives in. Are they from a mystical forest, a bustling city, or a treacherous dungeon? Use your artistic skills to draw a background that represents your character's environment.

  4. Bring it all together

Glue your character onto the background you created. Make sure to position them in a way that makes sense with the environment you drew.

Take a step back and admire your completed artwork! You have successfully created your own Dungeons and Dragons character using practical arts skills.
