By the end of this lesson, you will be able to identify and say the days of the week and describe the weather in Spanish.

Materials and Prep

  • Whiteboard or paper
  • Markers or crayons
  • Printed flashcards of the days of the week in Spanish
  • Printed flashcards of weather conditions in Spanish

Activities

  1. Start by introducing the days of the week in Spanish. Show the flashcards and pronounce each day clearly.

  2. Have the student practice saying the days of the week out loud. Encourage them to repeat after you and try to remember the correct pronunciation.

  3. Next, move on to the weather vocabulary. Show the flashcards of different weather conditions in Spanish and explain what each one means.

  4. Ask the student to describe the weather outside in Spanish. For example, "Hace sol" (It's sunny), "Está nublado" (It's cloudy), "Llueve" (It's raining), etc.

  5. Play a game of "Simon Says" using the days of the week and weather vocabulary. Give commands like "Simon says touch your head on Monday" or "Simon says act like it's raining".

  6. Finish the lesson by reviewing the days of the week and weather vocabulary. Have the student create a simple drawing or picture using the vocabulary learned.
