Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to identify and describe the different seasons.

Materials and Prep

  • Seasons flashcards or pictures
  • Blank paper and crayons/markers
  • Scissors

No prior knowledge is required for this lesson.

Activities

  1. Show the seasons flashcards or pictures to your child. Ask them to name each season as you show them.
  2. Discuss the characteristics of each season, such as weather, activities, and changes in nature.
  3. Ask your child to draw a picture representing their favorite season on the blank paper.
  4. Help your child cut out their drawing and ask them to describe what they drew.
  5. Display their artwork and discuss why they chose that particular season.

  • "There are four seasons: spring, summer, fall, and winter."
  • "Spring is when flowers bloom and it starts to get warmer."
  • "Summer is the hottest season. We can go swimming and have picnics."

  • "Winter is the coldest season. We can build snowmen and go sledding."
