By the end of this lesson, you will be able to understand and identify the different seasons.
Materials and Prep
- Large piece of paper or whiteboard
- Markers or crayons
- Seasonal pictures or flashcards (optional)
No prior knowledge is required for this lesson.
Activities
-
Start by discussing the concept of seasons with the student. Explain that seasons are different times of the year that have different weather and changes in nature.
-
Draw a large circle on the paper or whiteboard to represent the Earth.
Divide the circle into four sections, representing the four seasons: spring, summer, fall, and winter.
Discuss the characteristics of each season, such as the weather, temperature, and changes in nature.
Encourage the student to draw or color different elements associated with each season inside the corresponding section.
-
If you have seasonal pictures or flashcards, show them to the student and ask them to identify which season each picture represents.
-
Review the concept of seasons by asking the student questions about what they have learned. For example, "What season comes after winter?" or "What type of weather do we usually have in the summer?"
