Objective
By the end of this lesson, you will be able to understand the concept of seasons and how they relate to history.
Materials and Prep
- Paper
- Crayons or colored pencils
- Seasonal pictures or photographs
No prior knowledge is required for this lesson.
Activities
- Create a Seasons Chart: Draw a large chart with four sections, one for each season (spring, summer, fall, winter). Discuss the characteristics of each season and have your child draw or paste pictures that represent each season in the appropriate section of the chart.
- Seasonal Scavenger Hunt: Take a walk outside and look for signs of different seasons. Encourage your child to observe changes in weather, plants, and animals. Help them identify and collect items that represent each season.
- Seasonal Collage: Provide your child with a variety of seasonal pictures or photographs. Have them cut out the pictures and create a collage by gluing them onto a piece of paper. Encourage them to describe each picture and explain why it represents a particular season.
