Objective
By the end of this lesson, the toddler will be able to explore and appreciate visual arts through a puppy-themed coloring activity.
Materials and Prep
- Coloring sheets with puppy images (printed or drawn)
- Crayons or colored pencils
No specific prior knowledge or preparation is required.
Activities
- Introduce the theme of puppies and discuss what the toddler knows or likes about them.
- Show the coloring sheets with different puppy images and explain that the toddler will get to color them.
- Encourage the toddler to choose their favorite coloring tools (crayons or colored pencils) and guide them in coloring the puppy images.
- While coloring, discuss the colors used, ask the toddler to name the colors, and talk about the different parts of the puppies (ears, paws, tail, etc.).
- Once the coloring is complete, display the finished artwork and praise the toddler's creativity and effort.
