Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to create Halloween-themed arts and crafts using only materials found at home.

Materials and Prep

  • Construction paper (various colors)
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Markers or crayons
  • Any additional materials you may want to use for decorations (e.g., glitter, stickers, yarn)
  • Printed Halloween-themed coloring pages (optional)

Make sure you have a clear workspace and gather all the materials before starting the lesson.

Activities

  1. Create a Halloween-themed paper chain: Cut strips of construction paper and decorate them with Halloween designs using markers or crayons. Glue the ends of each strip together to form a chain. Hang the paper chain as a decoration.
  2. Make a spooky spider web: Cut out a large circle from black construction paper. Create a spider web design on the circle using white crayon or marker. Glue a plastic spider or draw one on the web. Hang the spider web on a window or wall.
  3. Create a Halloween mask: Cut out a mask shape from construction paper. Decorate it with markers, crayons, or any other materials you have. Attach a string or elastic to the sides of the mask to wear it.
  4. Color Halloween-themed coloring pages: If you have printed coloring pages, use your markers or crayons to color them in. You can also draw your own Halloween pictures and color them.
