By the end of this lesson, you will be able to identify and describe the Fruits of the Spirit.
Materials and Prep
- Paper
- Pencils or crayons
- Colorful markers
No prior knowledge or preparation is required for this lesson.
Activities
-
Start by discussing what the Fruits of the Spirit are. Explain that these are qualities or characteristics that people can have that make them kind, loving, and good.
-
Ask the student to think about different fruits they know, such as apples, oranges, and bananas. Discuss how each fruit has its own unique characteristics, just like people do.
-
Give the student a piece of paper and ask them to draw a fruit of their choice. Encourage them to be creative and use colorful markers to make their fruit stand out.
-
Once the drawing is complete, ask the student to write one Fruit of the Spirit on their paper, such as "love" or "kindness." Explain that they should write the word near their fruit drawing.
-
Repeat the previous step for each Fruit of the Spirit, allowing the student to draw and write one fruit at a time.
-
Once all the Fruits of the Spirit are represented on the paper, have the student share their artwork and explain why they chose each fruit for a specific characteristic.
