Materials and Prep

- A picture or a book about magic and magicians
Activities
- Introduce the topic of magic and magicians by showing a picture or reading a book about them. Discuss what magic is and some famous magicians.
- Write down a magic-related word on the whiteboard or paper, such as "wand". Say the word out loud and have the student repeat it.
- Break down the word "wand" into individual sounds and ask the student to identify each sound. For example, "w" and "and". Practice saying the sounds together.
- Ask the student to spell the word "wand" using the sounds they identified. Encourage them to write the letters on the whiteboard or paper.
- Repeat steps 2-4 with other magic-related words, such as "hat", "spell", and "trick".
- Play a spelling game by saying a magic-related word and having the student spell it out loud or write it down. You can take turns being the magician and the student.
