Objective
By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to create a beach-themed artwork using practical arts techniques.
Materials and Prep
- Construction paper (blue, brown, yellow, and green)
- Scissors
- Glue
- Markers or crayons
- Pencil
- Reference images or books about the beach
Activities
-
Begin by discussing the beach with the student. Talk about the different elements they might see at the beach, such as the ocean, sand, palm trees, and seashells.
-
Ask the student to draw and cut out the different elements of the beach from the construction paper. For example, they can cut out blue waves, brown sand, green palm trees, and yellow seashells.
-
Once the elements are cut out, have the student arrange and glue them onto a separate piece of construction paper to create their beach scene.
-
Encourage the student to add details and color to their artwork using markers or crayons.
-
Once the artwork is complete, have the student share and explain their creation, discussing the different elements they included and why they chose them.
