Objective
By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to understand and identify the different seasons in the Noongar Aboriginal calendar.
Materials and Prep
- Noongar Aboriginal season chart (can be drawn on paper)
- Colored pencils or markers
- Blank paper or notebook
Activities

Introduce the concept of seasons to the student. Explain that different parts of the year have different weather and changes in nature.
Show the Noongar Aboriginal season chart and explain that the Noongar people have their own way of dividing the year into seasons.

Ask the student to use the colored pencils or markers to draw and label each season on a blank paper or notebook.
Encourage them to be creative and include symbols or drawings that represent each season.

After they have completed their drawings, ask the student to share their artwork and explain what each season represents to them.
Discuss the differences between the Noongar Aboriginal seasons and the traditional seasons they may be familiar with.
