Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to demonstrate their understanding of practical arts by successfully welding exhaust to a dirt bike using a welder.

Materials and Prep

  • Dirt bike with exhaust
  • Welder (appropriate for welding exhaust)
  • Welding mask and gloves
  • Welding rods or wire
  • Protective clothing (e.g., long-sleeved shirt, pants)
  • Work area with proper ventilation
  • Basic knowledge of welding safety and techniques

Activities

  1. Start by ensuring you have all the necessary materials and a safe work area.
  2. Put on the appropriate protective clothing, including the welding mask and gloves.
  3. Inspect the dirt bike and exhaust to identify the areas that need welding.
  4. Prepare the welder according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  5. Position the exhaust and dirt bike in a way that allows for easy access to the welding area.
  6. Use the welder to weld the exhaust to the dirt bike, following proper welding techniques and safety precautions.
  7. Check the welds for quality and make any necessary adjustments.
  8. Clean up the work area and store the equipment properly.
