Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to practice spelling words related to the book "Zoey and Sassafras: Dragons and Marshmallows" and improve your spelling skills.

Materials and Prep

• Copy of the book "Zoey and Sassafras: Dragons and Marshmallows"
• Paper and pencil

Activities

1. Read a chapter from the book "Zoey and Sassafras: Dragons and Marshmallows" together.

2. Choose five words from the chapter and write them down on a piece of paper.

3. Practice spelling each word out loud. Break down the words into syllables if needed.

4. Create flashcards for each word. Write the word on one side and draw a picture representing the word on the other side.

5. Play a spelling game using the flashcards. Show a flashcard to your parent or sibling and try to spell the word correctly. If you spell it correctly, you get to keep the flashcard. If you spell it incorrectly, put the flashcard back in the pile and try again later.
