  • Dragon and marshmallow-themed picture cards (optional)

No prior knowledge or preparation is required for this lesson.

Activities

  1. Word Hunt: Write down the following words related to dragons and marshmallows on separate pieces of paper: dragon, marshmallow, fire, magical, adventure. Hide the words around the room and have your child find them. Once found, have them spell each word out loud.
  2. Dragon and Marshmallow Spelling Bee: Give your child a list of dragon and marshmallow-related words to spell. Start with simple words like "fire" and gradually increase the difficulty. Encourage them to sound out each letter and spell the words correctly.
  3. Picture Spelling: If you have dragon and marshmallow-themed picture cards, show your child a picture and have them spell the word associated with it. For example, show a picture of a dragon and ask them to spell "dragon". This activity can be repeated with different pictures.
