Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to write a short paragraph about a farm animal and their favorite activity on the farm.

Materials and Prep

  • Paper
  • Pencils or crayons

Make sure you have a comfortable writing area set up for your lesson.

Activities

  1. Start by discussing different farm animals with your child. Ask them which animal they find most interesting and why. Write down their response.

  2. Next, have your child draw a picture of their chosen farm animal. Encourage them to include details like the animal's color, size, and any special features.

  3. After the drawing is complete, ask your child to describe their animal's favorite activity on the farm. Help them write a simple sentence or two about it.

  4. Once the description is written, have your child read it out loud to you. Encourage them to use their finger to point to each word as they read.

  5. Finally, display their drawing and writing in a special place, like a bulletin board or the refrigerator, to celebrate their accomplishment!
