Materials and Prep
- World map or globe
- Printed map of Africa
- Colored pencils or markers
- Internet access (optional)
Activities

Introduce Africa by showing the world map or globe. Point out the continent of Africa and discuss its size and location.

Provide the printed map of Africa to the student. Ask them to color the different countries, using different colors for each country.

Using the colored map, ask the student to locate and label key countries such as Egypt, South Africa, Nigeria, and Kenya.

Discuss famous landmarks in Africa, such as the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt, Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe and Zambia, and Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. Show pictures of these landmarks if possible.

Encourage the student to research and find one interesting fact about a country in Africa that they would like to share with the class.
