Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to write a sentence about your favorite thing to glue.

Materials and Prep

  • Construction paper
  • Glue stick
  • Scissors
  • Markers or crayons
  • Pencil

Before starting the lesson, make sure you have a good understanding of what it means to glue something and how to use a glue stick.

Activities

  1. Introduction: Show the materials to your child and explain that today you will be writing about something they like to glue.
  2. Brainstorming: Ask your child to think about their favorite thing to glue. Encourage them to share their ideas with you.
  3. Sentence Writing: Help your child write a simple sentence about their favorite thing to glue. Start with a capital letter, use finger spaces between words, and end with a period.
  4. Illustration: Have your child draw a picture of their favorite thing to glue on the construction paper.
  5. Sharing: Allow your child to share their sentence and illustration with you or other family members.
