Show the toddler different toy dinosaurs and briefly explain what dinosaurs are. Encourage the toddler to touch and explore the dinosaurs, discussing their size, shapes, and colors.
Using the dinosaur toys, ask the toddler to name each dinosaur and make the sound it might have made. Reinforce the names and sounds by repeating them together.
Provide the toddler with construction paper, markers or crayons, scissors, and tape or glue. Help them cut out dinosaur shapes from the construction paper and decorate them. Encourage creativity and imagination.
Read a dinosaur-themed book to the toddler, pointing out the different dinosaurs in the illustrations and discussing their characteristics.
