Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to create their own dinosaur artwork using basic art techniques.

Materials and Prep

• Dinosaur coloring sheets or pictures
• Blank white paper
• Colored pencils or crayons
• Scissors
• Glue

Prior to the lesson, print out dinosaur coloring sheets or gather pictures of dinosaurs for reference.

Activities

1. Show the student different dinosaur pictures and discuss their features and characteristics. Ask the student to choose their favorite dinosaur.

2. Provide the student with a blank white paper and ask them to draw their chosen dinosaur using colored pencils or crayons. Encourage them to be creative and use different colors.

3. Once the drawing is complete, help the student cut out their dinosaur carefully.

4. Ask the student to think about a background for their dinosaur. They can draw a landscape or use additional coloring sheets to cut out trees, rocks, or other elements.

5. Assist the student in gluing their dinosaur onto the background, creating a scene.

6. Encourage the student to add any additional details or decorations to their artwork.

7. Display the finished artwork and ask the student to talk about their dinosaur and the scene they created.
