Materials and Prep
- Paper
- Pencils or markers
- Coloring materials (crayons, colored pencils, or paints)
- Scissors
- Glue
- Optional: magazines or newspapers for collage
Before starting the lesson, make sure you have a clear workspace and gather all the materials listed above.
Activities
- Discuss the meaning and importance of acts of kindness. Talk about how small acts of kindness can make a big difference in someone's day.
- Brainstorm different acts of kindness together. Write down the ideas on a piece of paper.
- Choose one act of kindness from the list and create a drawing or painting that represents it. You can also cut out pictures from magazines or newspapers and create a collage.
- Once you finish your artwork, write a short description or caption explaining the act of kindness depicted in your piece.
- Share your artwork and description with someone else in your family or a friend. Discuss how your artwork promotes kindness.
