Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to plan a family road trip by researching and understanding different geographical locations.

Materials and Prep

  • Colored pencils or markers
  • Access to the internet or library resources

Before starting the lesson, make sure you have a basic understanding of how to read a map and use search engines or library resources to find information.

Activities

  1. Choose a destination: Start by discussing with your family where you would like to go on your road trip. It could be a specific city, a national park, or any other interesting location.

  2. Research the destination: Use the internet or library resources to gather information about the chosen destination. Find out its geographical location, climate, landmarks, and any interesting facts about the area.

  3. Create an itinerary: Plan out your road trip by mapping the route from your home to the destination. Mark any interesting stops or attractions along the way.

  4. Design a travel brochure: Use your creativity to design a travel brochure showcasing the destination and the highlights of your road trip. Include pictures, descriptions, and fun facts.

  5. Present your road trip plan: Share your itinerary and travel brochure with your family. Explain why you chose the destination and what you are looking forward to the most.
