Third Grade Talking Points
- "Animals have different features and adaptations that help them survive in their environments."
- "Features are the physical characteristics of an animal, such as its size, shape, color, or body parts."
- "Adaptations are special traits or behaviors that help an animal survive in its environment. They can be physical features, like sharp teeth or strong claws, or behaviors, like camouflage or migration."
- "Animals have different adaptations depending on where they live and what they need to survive. For example, a polar bear has thick fur and a layer of blubber to stay warm in the cold Arctic."
- "When comparing animals, we can look for similarities and differences in their features and adaptations. This helps us understand how they are similar or different in their habitats and lifestyles."
