- Pen and paper
Before starting the lesson, make sure you have familiarized yourself with basic arithmetic concepts such as counting, addition, and subtraction.
Activities
Counting Farm Animals:
Show the student different farm animal toys or pictures. Ask them to count how many animals they see and write the number down. Repeat with different sets of animals.
Addition with Eggs:
Place a number of small containers or baskets in front of the student, each labeled with a number. Use plastic eggs or any small objects to represent eggs. Ask the student to add a specific number of eggs to each container and then count the total number of eggs. Repeat with different numbers.
Subtraction with Animals:
Show the student a group of farm animal toys or pictures. Ask them to pick a certain number of animals and place them in a separate container. Then, ask them to subtract the number of animals in the separate container from the total number they started with. Count the remaining animals together.
