Objective
By the end of this lesson, you will be able to understand the basics of the skeletal system and use that knowledge to build a model of a skeleton.
Materials and Prep
- White construction paper
- Scissors
- Glue
- Markers or colored pencils
- Reference materials or online resources about the skeletal system
Before starting the lesson, make sure you have a good understanding of the different bones in the human body and how they fit together.
Activities
- Start by discussing the importance of the skeletal system and its role in supporting our bodies and protecting our organs.
- Using the reference materials or online resources, identify and label the major bones in the human body on a piece of white construction paper.
- Cut out the labeled bones and arrange them on a separate sheet of construction paper to create a model of a skeleton.
- Glue the bones in place once you are satisfied with the arrangement.
- Use markers or colored pencils to add details and color to your skeleton model.
- Take a moment to observe and discuss the different bones and their functions.
