Objective
By the end of this lesson, you will be able to read and understand a simple Lego-themed story, as well as identify and discuss key elements of the story.
Materials and Prep
- Lego-themed storybook
- Lego bricks or Lego minifigures
Activities
- Introduce the Lego-themed storybook to the student and ask them to observe the cover. Discuss what they think the story might be about based on the cover.
- Read the story aloud to the student, pointing to the words as you read. Encourage the student to follow along with their finger.
- After reading the story, ask the student to retell the main events or key parts of the story in their own words. Help them if needed.
- Using the Lego bricks or Lego minifigures, have the student act out their favorite part of the story. Encourage them to use their imagination and creativity.
- Ask the student to identify and name some of the characters or objects from the story. Write down their responses and discuss their choices.
- Engage in a conversation with the student about their thoughts and feelings about the story. Ask questions like, "What did you like about the story?", "How did the story make you feel?", or "What do you think will happen next?".
