Objective

By the end of this lesson, the Kindergarten student will be able to understand the concept of crystal healing and create their own crystal-inspired artwork.

Materials and Prep

  • A variety of crystals (e.g., quartz, amethyst, rose quartz)
  • Construction paper or cardstock
  • Markers or crayons
  • Glue or tape
  • Scissors
  • Optional: reference books about crystals

Activities

  1. Introduction (5 minutes): Begin by discussing what crystals are and their connection to healing. Show the student different crystals and explain their unique properties.
  2. Crystal Exploration (10 minutes): Allow the student to handle and examine each crystal. Encourage them to describe how the crystals look and feel. Discuss any observations or questions they may have.
  3. Artwork Creation (15 minutes): Provide the student with construction paper or cardstock and art supplies. Instruct them to draw or trace the outline of a crystal on the paper. Then, using markers or crayons, have them color and decorate their crystal artwork.
  4. Crystal Placement (5 minutes): Once the artwork is complete, guide the student in placing their chosen crystal on top of the artwork. Discuss the significance of the crystal's placement and how it relates to healing.
  5. Reflection (5 minutes): Have a conversation with the student about their artwork and the crystal they chose. Ask them to explain why they picked that particular crystal and how it makes them feel.
