Objective
By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to express gratitude through creative arts and understand the importance of being thankful.
Materials and Prep
Materials: Construction paper, crayons/markers, glue, scissors
Prep: Cut out various shapes from construction paper for the activities.
Activities
1. Gratitude Collage: Have the student create a collage using the cut-out shapes and draw or write things they are grateful for on each shape. Then glue the shapes onto a larger piece of paper to create a gratitude collage.
2. Thank You Cards: Guide the student to make thank you cards for someone they appreciate. They can decorate the cards with drawings and write a simple message expressing their gratitude.
3. Gratitude Tree: Help the student draw and cut out a tree shape from construction paper. Then have them write or draw things they are thankful for on leaves and glue them onto the tree to create a gratitude tree.
