Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to understand the concept of rain and its importance in the environment.

Materials and Prep

Materials:

  • Watercolor paints
  • White construction paper
  • Large paintbrush
  • Blue construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue

Prep:

  • Cut the blue construction paper into cloud shapes
  • Prepare the watercolor paints and paintbrush

Activities

1. Cloud Painting: Use the watercolor paints to create rain clouds on the white construction paper. Discuss the concept of rain and how it comes from clouds.

2. Raindrop Craft: Cut out raindrop shapes from the blue construction paper and glue them onto the cloud paintings to represent rain falling from the clouds.
