Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to understand the basic principles of government and citizenship, and how they apply to your everyday life.

Materials and Prep

Materials: Paper, pen/pencil, and access to the internet for research.

Prep: Familiarize yourself with the branches of government and their functions.

Activities

1. Research and create a chart or diagram showing the three branches of government and their roles.

2. Write a short essay or create a presentation discussing the importance of being an informed and active citizen in a democracy.

3. Conduct a mock election or debate on a current political issue to understand the democratic process.
