Objective
By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to understand the concept of mixing different "ingredients" to create a pretend veterinary medicine and explain the basics of chemical reactions in a simple and fun way.
Materials and Prep
Materials needed: water, baking soda, vinegar, food coloring, small cups or containers, and a spoon. No prior knowledge needed.
Activities
1. Mix water, baking soda, and a few drops of food coloring in a cup to create a "medicine" mixture.
2. Pour vinegar into another cup and explain that it's a special ingredient that will make the medicine fizzy.
3. Pour the vinegar into the medicine mixture and observe the fizzing reaction.
