2. Drafting: Write a short story (1-2 pages) featuring Hello Kitty as the main character. Include descriptive language to paint a vivid picture for the reader and use dialogue to bring the characters to life.

3. Sharing: Share your story with a family member or friend. Ask for feedback and consider any suggestions for improvement.

Seventh Grade Talking Points

  • Understanding Character Development: "In our story, we want to make Hello Kitty and her friends feel real to the reader. Let's think about their personalities and how they would react in different situations."
  • Using Descriptive Language: "We need to use words that create a clear picture in the reader's mind. Think about the colors, sounds, and feelings associated with Hello Kitty's world."
  • Incorporating Dialogue: "Dialogue helps the characters come alive and adds excitement to the story. Let's make sure to use it in our writing, just like in a real conversation."
