Objective

By the end of this lesson, the preschool student will be able to listen attentively to simple texts and retell the main points.

Materials and Prep

Materials: A picture book with simple and engaging story, a comfortable reading area.

Prep: Familiarize yourself with the story and practice reading it aloud with expression.

Activities

1. Read Aloud: Sit with the student in a comfortable reading area and read the picture book aloud with enthusiasm and expression.

2. Retelling Game: After reading, ask the student to retell the main points of the story in their own words. Encourage them to use the pictures to help them remember.

3. Acting Out: Encourage the student to act out their favorite part of the story, using their imagination and creativity.

  • "Today we are going to listen to a fun story. Let's listen carefully and see what happens in the story!"
  • "What was your favorite part of the story? Can you tell me what happened in the story using your own words?"
  • "Let's pretend to be the characters in the story. How would you act out the story if you were one of the characters?"
