Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to apply arithmetic skills to accurately measure and convert ingredients for more complex recipes in cooking and baking.

Materials and Prep

Materials: Measuring cups and spoons, recipe book, ingredients for a chosen recipe

Prep: Familiarize yourself with the chosen recipe and ensure all necessary ingredients are available.

Activities

1. Choose a recipe from the recipe book that you would like to make.

2. Use measuring cups and spoons to measure out the ingredients needed for the recipe.

3. Practice converting measurements, for example, if the recipe calls for 1/2 cup of flour, how many tablespoons is that?

4. Follow the recipe to cook or bake the dish.
