Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to read and comprehend a simple recipe for Thanksgiving dinner, and understand the importance of cleaning and preparing a home for guests.

Materials and Prep

Materials: Recipe book or printed recipe for a simple Thanksgiving dinner, cleaning supplies such as a broom, dustpan, and cloth.

Prep: Make sure the student has a basic understanding of reading simple sentences and following instructions.

Activities

  • Read the Thanksgiving dinner recipe together and discuss the ingredients and steps involved in cooking the meal.

  • Role-play cleaning the house for guests, discussing the importance of tidying up and making the home welcoming.
