Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to understand the concept of self-regulation and apply strategies for managing their emotions and behaviors effectively.

  • Coloring materials
  • Timer
  • Quiet space for activities

No prior knowledge required for this lesson. Just bring an open mind and a willingness to participate!

Activities

  • Mindful Coloring: Set a timer for 10 minutes and have the student engage in mindful coloring. Encourage them to focus on their breathing and the colors they are using.

  • Emotion Drawing: Ask the student to draw different facial expressions that represent various emotions. Discuss each emotion and how they can recognize and manage it.

  • Emotion Charades: Act out different emotions and have the student guess what emotion is being portrayed. Discuss strategies for managing each emotion.
