Materials and Prep
Materials: Toy dinosaurs, paper, crayons

Activities
1. Dinosaur Addition: Use toy dinosaurs to practice addition. For example, if you have 3 dinosaurs and add 2 more, how many do you have in total?
2. Dino Subtraction: Use toy dinosaurs to practice subtraction. For example, if you have 5 dinosaurs and take away 2, how many are left?
3. Draw and Count: Draw a picture of your favorite dinosaur and count how many legs it has. Then, draw another dinosaur and count its legs too!
Kindergarten Grade Talking Points
- "Dinosaurs lived a long time ago, and we can have fun learning about them while also learning math!"
- "When we add dinosaurs together, we can see how many there are in total. It's like counting how many friends are playing together!"
- "Subtraction helps us know how many dinosaurs are left if some go away. It's like when some friends leave, and we count how many are still with us."
- "Drawing and counting the legs of dinosaurs helps us practice our math and also be creative at the same time!"
