Objective
By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to participate in Christmas baking activities and understand the basic concepts of baking and following a recipe.
Materials and Prep
Materials: Mixing bowl, measuring cups and spoons, cookie cutters, rolling pin, baking sheet, ingredients for sugar cookies (flour, sugar, butter, eggs, vanilla extract, baking powder), icing and sprinkles for decorating.
Prep: Preheat the oven, gather all ingredients and utensils, and clear a work surface for baking.
Activities
1. Measure and mix the ingredients for sugar cookies in a mixing bowl.
2. Roll out the dough and use cookie cutters to create Christmas shapes.
3. Place the cookies on a baking sheet and bake them in the oven.
4. Allow the cookies to cool, then decorate them with icing and sprinkles.
