2. Sensory Walk: Go outside and take a sensory walk in the snow. Pay attention to what you see, hear, feel, and even taste (if it's safe!).
3. Descriptive Writing: Use your brainstorming list and sensory walk experience to write a descriptive paragraph about snow. Try to include as many vivid details as possible.
Third Grade Talking Points
- Snow is a type of weather that comes in the winter. You can say, "Snow is frozen water that falls from the sky when it's really cold outside."
- When we talk about snow, we can use our senses to describe it. You can say, "I can see the snowflakes falling gently from the sky. I can hear the crunching sound when I walk on the snow. I can feel the cold, wet snowflakes on my face."
- Descriptive writing helps us paint a picture with words. You can say, "When I write about snow, I can use words that create a picture in the reader's mind. I can use words like 'sparkling,' 'fluffy,' and 'magical' to describe snow."
