Activities
1. Nature Scavenger Hunt: Go outside and find 5 different types of plants and 5 different types of animals. Use your notebook to draw and describe each one.
2. Plant and Animal Role Play: Choose one plant and one animal you found, and act out their roles in the ecosystem. For example, pretend to be a bee pollinating a flower, or a tree providing a home for birds.
Third Grade Talking Points
- Plants are living things that make their own food from sunlight, water, and air. They provide oxygen for us to breathe. You can say, "Plants are like the Earth's lungs, giving us fresh air to breathe."
- Animals are living things that need food, water, and air to survive. They play different roles in the ecosystem, like pollinating flowers, spreading seeds, or decomposing dead plants and animals. You can say, "Animals are like nature's helpers, doing important jobs to keep the environment healthy."
