Materials and Prep

Materials:

  • Blank paper
  • Crayons or colored pencils
  • Scissors
  • Glue

Preparation:

  • Find images or drawings of winter scenes for reference
  • Prepare a space for the student to work on their activities

Activities

1. Winter Scene Drawing: Have the student draw a winter scene using the materials provided, including snow, trees, and animals that are commonly found in winter.

2. Winter Collage: Cut out images of winter-related items from magazines or printouts and create a collage on the blank paper to depict a winter environment.

Preschool Grade Talking Points

  • Winter is a season when it gets very cold outside. We wear warm clothes like coats, hats, and gloves to stay cozy.
  • During winter, the trees lose their leaves and look bare. The ground gets covered with snow, and it makes everything look white and sparkly.
  • Animals like birds and squirrels have a hard time finding food in winter, so we can help them by putting out bird feeders and leaving nuts for the squirrels.
