Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to identify and understand different winter-related geographical features and locations.

Materials and Prep

  • Map of the world
  • Images of winter landscapes
  • Coloring materials
  • Access to a globe or atlas

No prior knowledge required.

Activities

1. Show the student the map of the world and point out the continents.

2. Display images of winter landscapes from different parts of the world and discuss the differences and similarities.

3. Have the student color a winter scene and talk about the features they included.

4. Use a globe or atlas to show the student where different winter locations are in relation to their own home.
