Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to identify the main character and key events in the story "Olive the Other Reindeer" and demonstrate understanding of the story through creative activities.

Materials and Prep

Materials: Copy of "Olive the Other Reindeer" book, drawing paper, crayons or markers

Prep: Familiarize yourself with the story and prepare the drawing materials.

Activities

1. Read "Olive the Other Reindeer" aloud to the student.

2. After reading, ask the student to draw a picture of Olive and the other characters in the story.

3. Encourage the student to retell the story using their drawing as a visual aid.

  • "Who is the main character in the story? What does Olive do in the story?"
  • "What other characters does Olive meet in the story? Can you draw them?"
  • "What was your favorite part of the story? Why did you like it?"
