Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to write a creative story using characters and settings from Toca World.

Materials and Prep

  • Paper
  • Pencils or crayons
  • Toca World app

Before starting the lesson, make sure you have the Toca World app installed on your device.

Activities

  1. Brainstorming Characters and Settings
  2. Open the Toca World app and explore the different locations and characters available. Think about the characters you find interesting and the settings you would like to use for your story.

  3. Creating a Story Outline
  4. Write down the names of the characters and the settings you have chosen. Create a simple outline for your story, including a beginning, middle, and end.

  5. Writing the Story
  6. Using the outline as a guide, write your story using complete sentences. Be creative and remember to include details about the characters and the settings.

  7. Illustrating the Story
  8. After finishing your story, draw pictures to go along with each part. Use colors and details to bring your story to life.

  9. Sharing and Presenting
  10. Read your story aloud to a family member or a friend. Share your illustrations and explain why you chose the characters and settings for your story.
